52 Week Money Challenge

I saw this on my Facebook's news feed from a friend that is always finding new clever and fun ways to save... look at this!!!!!!!

One of my new year's resolutions is to have a little extra "nail polish  money" and this is a great idea.  I am hereby DARING you to take this challenge.  By end of the year you could have $1,378 someone say Christmas/Holiday Shopping???

woohooo!!
am stoked just thinking about it.. and how easy is it.

Simply set ASIDE and put AWAY (preferably into a savings account) as follows:

Week 1 of the year $1.00
Week 2 $2.00
Week 3 $3.00
and so on and so forth.  See the chart above.
and if you have an extra dollar or so! throw it in! why not? but whatever comes IN shall NEVER come OUT!

Let's do this together.... Tell me what you would do with $1,378 at the end of the year and a random comment will be chosen to receive a little surprise.

(be sure to have signed in or provide your e-mail address so I can contact you.  In the event you do not wish to publish your email address [I understand] email me a copy of your comment to bsnfblog@gmail.com)

Fine print:  Must follow blog.  Open US and Canada shipping addresses only internationals can comment for fun! :)

ends: February 1, 2013

UPDATE: Colleen S. a fan from the page, suggested  to start backwards so the amount gets smaller and easier and easier to do!  what a great idea.   Comment below with your thoughts and suggestions and keep us posted on progress!

  2. I would use it for our anniversary. December is always really full for us with 2 birthdays, and christmas, so we never have money by the time the 29th rolls around to do anything special.

  3. I saw this the other day as well and talked my husband into trying it. We plan on using the money for Christmas... who can't use extra money that time of the year, right?

  4. I would give half of it to my parents to help out with bills. Then the other half I would use to help pay bills and stuff at my new house with my boyfriend!

  7. It would be great for December and January. The minute December hits I stress. We have Christmas, then one week later new years then one week later my oldest daughters birthday and a week after that my son's birthday, plus my anniversary is in there too and we never celebrate it !! This money could resolve lots of Stress!!

  8. If i could save this money it would help me dearly in December and January. with Christmas and new years then 2 of my children's birthdays in the two following consecutive weeks including an anniversary that never gets celebrated. This plan could help me decrease the amount of gray hair I get every winter due to over induced stress lol

  9. I love this idea, and am going to give it a shot! I'd probably either put it away for future college costs, or pay for a vacation for myself and my boyfriend.

  13. I would definitely use it for Christmas gifts. Between Oct 12- Nov 2 there are 5 bdays. Both my daughters, mines & my twin sister and my mother in law.. By the time we celebrate all those bdays its crazy Christmas time having to buy gifts all over again lol

  14. I figured if you do it backwards you are only adding $10 to it in december rather then $202 :)

  15. This is so funny my hubby and I talked about doing something similar to this so we have enough money saved by Thanksgiving for black Friday shopping. I may double up a few weeks to get that! We have five kids so makes perfect sense thanks!
