RED THUMB 2 STOP : Blog for a cause

Hello friends:

I read a wonderful article this week that gave me an idea that could only succeed if we work together, whether you blog or don't, have a Facebook page, or not, I encourage your participation. 

The article, which I also shared on my FB page that day, talked about men getting their pointers polished for different reasons... but the one I liked the most was some guy named Steve that paints his thumb nail red to stop him from texting while driving because a family friend was killed by a distracted driver. 

This really touched me, because I too, have known people who are now in a better place for this same reason, and as a motorcyclist, I have come to very close calls all because the driver was distracted. 

I thought it was a brilliant idea if we make, starting on June 8, 2014 a DON'T TEXT AND DRIVE AWARENESS WEEK.... an InLinks will be set up for bloggers as well as an album on my page with all of our pictures, we can all still do our regular manis but we're painting our thumbs RED! reminding ourselves and creating awareness to drive hands-free, 

the red thumb acts as a stop sign when we grab our phones.. it reminds us to STOP .. WE'RE DRIVING!!!!! The idea is for the red to stand out, so please do a regular NOT-RED mani and paint your thumb RED, if not both, do your dominant hand, the one you'll grab your phone with, nail art absolutely acceptable.

Although this isn't terribly unique, you never know, TAKE THIS PLEDGE it may save a life, many people, myself included, are guilty of this distraction from time to time, not just texting but checking our social media platforms, pages we like, and the like.  Let's also bring some conscience to others. 

I also encourage male participation.. I have already enlisted a group of supportive men, can't wait to paint them :)

Mangroomer

I obviously and luckily don't have what it takes to properly review a Mangroomer (pheew) but I gave it to my lovely review assistant and this is what he thinks of it.

"When I got the MANGROOMER Scruff Sculptor for review I got excited to see a product that was thought to stand out of the crowd.  Its design was intended to be a cleaner and more precise trimmer that the other ones you find in the market.

It has precision electric length controls that operate with the touch of a button, enabling you to trim as close as .03mm and as much as 5 mm.It has a digital display where you can see the length of the trim to be performed as well as the battery charge status.

It also helps you to keep your cabinet more organized since it doesn't need any additional adapters that otherwise would be laying down in your cabinet. Other of its features is the whisker belly, which helps to reduce the mess resulting when trimming facial hair because it is intended to trap the hair trimmed hair, although this feature only works fine if you hold the trimmer vertically which is not always the case, specially when you are trimming facial hair that requires different angles.

It cuts smoothly, and has plenty of power to neatly and effectively shape or trim facial hair.  Battery life is good and charges quickly.  It requires a little bit of practice to learn to angle it correctly to avoid trimming your beard shorter than desired. But once you get to know this tool you will get excellent and professional looking results.  Definitely I would recommend this product.

I only have a couple of suggestions. It would be nice if it would come with its own case for storage. It would also be nice if the trimmer would remember the length you had it set to the last time you used it, but besides that this product is definitely a keeper."

I know exactly what he means by the "whisker belly" if we lived together I'd hate to see all the hair on my sink.




As for the Detail Groomer this is what he had to say:

"I can tell this is a very versatile tool that does its job quite well. It comes with 3 Interchangeable attachment Heads for the trimming of your nose, neckline, sideburns, ears and eyebrows. As advertised the attachments are easy to change. The eyebrow groomer works really nice. Just snap it on and comb your eyebrows to have perfectly groomed eyebrows. The nose and ear trimmer is very gentle and it doesn't ever pinch you. The sideburns and neck trimmer works really well and is really intuitive to use, and works really well on sensitive skin. Other good feature the Detail Groomer has is that can be used wet or dry, it is easy to clean and can be used also with good results on the chest. It is powered by a single AA battery and works really evenly without noticeable variations on power or speed. The only thing missing on this device is a case to save the detail groomer and its attachments. Other than that, this is a perfect  tool worth to get to make your grooming routine just a breeze!"

Anyway, I think this gives you a pretty good picture and HINT HINT! holidays are coming!!!!!!!!!!

Shoe Love: Lugz Allerton: Review and Giveaway

Men can also be shoelovers they just have a harder time admitting to it.  Right??
As stated before in previous posts, I must say I am very lucky girl my boyfriend supports everything I do as crazy as it may seem and we share the love for shoes (well.. he shares my love for my shoes).  He has wondered if there will be a time when we will go to DSW (my favorite shoe store) and get a pair for him and occasionally (occasionally being the operative word) we do! I asked my boyfriend if he'll be my model.  Although he had never heard of the brand, he was so thrilled about being my model that he also wrote the review and here's what he said:

"This is a stylish casual shoe that goes really good with jeans and casual clothes. I love the cool and relaxed look they have, but overall I love they are really confortable. I tested the confort of these shoes a couple a weeks ago when I helped my girlfriend at the church’s carnival on a hot and humid summer Sunday; I had to be standing and walking up and down all around the place and I was really happy I had them on.

The dark gray canvas texture gives it a nice stylish look, that looks great combiend with most casual clothes,and also seem durable and easy to maintain.

So if you are looking for pair of confortable, casual and stylish shoes I would recommend you to consider getting these ones."

There you have it!  from a man, THE man, himself.  I remember that Carnival it was great but we were on our feet ALL DAY! I wore the wrong sandals that day I still regret it.  (sad face) good thing he was comfy.  :)
