LASplash: Makeup!!!!!!!!!!

I received MAKEUP for review.. makeup always excites me.
First up is this Glamorous Shadowduo (Madagascar) very inviting and a perfect shade duo shades.

Very rich in color and applied very well.  Full color pigments, gorgeous colors and long lasting.  The pictures does the color no justice.  The colors are a true blue and green with a hint of shimmer.  Perfect to match your outfit during the day or make your look at night.

Next, is the LASplash liquid eye liner.  Dries quickly and does not smear.

I used it here and applied different pressure to each line.  Very responsive liner and durable.  The more pressure you apply the thicker the liner.

Last and certainly not least, ONE OF MY FAVORITES.  This mascara make my eyelashes POP! I love it. it does not clump (surprising to the size of the applicator) and separates the lashes perfectly and evenly.

LASplash is made in the US and NOT TESTED ON ANIMALS

Review: Snack Taxi: Go Green!

Snack TAXI is a Green America certified business whose mission is to make high quality-affordable reusable bags that empower everyone to reduce waste.

I received the Bite Me GLUTTEN FREE Sandwich sack and Snack Sack for review and I absolutely love it. Sandwiches and snacks fit perfectly into them. My biggest concern with reusable stuff is how easy is it to clean, I try and try to go greener and greener, but unfortunately (no good excuse coming) am always on the go and fall slave to convenience. I also worry about bacteria and unwanted visitors. Anyway, I found these beauties to be very easy to clean therefore, a KEEPER!!

Invented in 2003 as a way to stem the tide of plastic ziplock bags that flowed from their house (wait till you see my house =[ ) Erin Kelly-Dill, owner, had fallen prey to the easy appeal of the ziplock bag.

SnackTAXIs are domestically manufactured (in Massachusetts) by local and very talented sewers. commited to keeping business local and promise never to outsource their labor.

SnackTAXI offers many different designs to choose from (I love the panda sack) and you can even make your own Taxis.

Thank you SnackTAXI for your green efforts.

For more info and pricing go to their site http://www.snacktaxi.com/

How would you like to win your VERY own??... choice of sandwich sack or snack sack pictured above. Go to https://www.facebook.com/FreebiesandGiveaways?ref=ts and enter the giveaway being hosted there (BY ME) goes live at 12:00A.M. Friday, June 29, 2012 through Sunday.

Andalou Naturals: Fruit Stem Cell

Super Polypeptide Lift and Firm Cream
Andalou Naturals values where their ingredients come from, "the farmers who grow them, and connecting the human chain of hangs that make every step possible from farm to bottle, soil to skin and botany to beauty".

I received the age-defying Super Polypeptide Lift and Firm Cream  (don't laugh) it is really never to early to start taking care of your skin.  I have been using it for several weeks now and even took it as my cream of choice to my recent trip to New Orleans.  Let me tell you.  My mother has been a cosmetologist (and artist) for as long as I can remember, so I have seen a couple of facial creams throughout my life and they all have a scent in common.  I remember telling my mom at night that she had put on her "old lady creams" on as AM/PM creams have a very distinct scent.  not a bad scent just distinct (someone please help me out here.  can you realte??)! (LoL)

Hence, I liked this cream particular as it has a very pleasant/youthful/fruity (not sweet) smell-it's just marvelous and again, youthful.  I use it morning and night. Polypeptides join forces with Advanced Fruit Stem Cells and BioActive 8 Berry Complex for an instant facelift, stimulating circulation, while increasing collagen and elastin to help erase the lines of time for a firmer, smoother, more luminous complexion.

the company donates $1 to one of  their four charitable organizations.  Also, 100 percent of Andalou’s special-edition A Force of Nature Hand Cream’s net sales – both in-store and online – goes to charity.
Active Ingredients:
Apple + Grape Fruit Stem Cell Cultures: Malus Domestica derived from an extract of a rare Swiss apple and Solar Vitis derived from an extract of a grape from the Burgundy region of France; advance the longevity of skin stem cells and help protect skin's DNA against environmental stress and aging factors.
Renews dormant cells - Awakening cells to behave like younger cells.Repairs damaged cells - Increasing cell longevity and vitality.
Regenerates healthy cells - Stimulating healthy cell production.
BioActive 8 Berry Complex with bilberry fruit stem cells: Provides a potent portfolio of super antioxidants to combat environmental stressors, support cell turnover, increase collagen and elastin, and strengthen dermal immunity with a certified organic blend of Acai Berry, Aronia Berry, Bearberry, Bilberry, Black Elderberry, Goji Berry, Rosehips Berry, Sea Buckthorn Berry.
Certified Organic Aloe Vera (aloe barbendensis): Polysaccharides best prepare, soothe, oxygenate, and replenish, providing the optimal dermal delivery for our active ingredients.

Indie Invasion: Soflajo

Indies have invaded my blog and I could not be happier.
From Soflajo's 4-free nail polish Life is a Beach Collection I present to you The Heat Is On.  It was a beach party since the moment I opened it.

The Heat is On is a brownish/orangish/purpleish creamy color, a bit sheer and shimmery and very easy to apply.  I used 2 coats.

Looks great indoors and has a different tune and tone outdoors Beach by day and night ;)

Soflajo recommends to apply it over black for a different effect but I loved it alone and instead put black over it ;)

Here's a look at the entire Life is a Beach Collection worn alone and on the right and over black on the left.

Soflajo bottles come in 5ml bottles for $5.00 and 15ml for $10.00 and can purchased at www.soflajo.com and be sure to like her on Facebook

Methods and ideas for "green living"

Ok! so who likes to come home to a CLEAN house (or apartment) and feel the warmth and cozyness of a clean home?? I honestly dont like to do house chores, I much rather be in front of a mirror playing with makeup and doing my nails and to make things worse, I now have to worry about products that are safe for me, my precious feline daughter, my plants, and of course the environment either way, chores are a must.

Luckily, I was given the opportunity to review Dragonfly Organix Cleaning Products are made of premium plant based materials. Safe to use around children and pets. Powerful, effective, and reasonably priced, they are the right choice for your home and garden.

Thank you Dragonfly Organix for your green efforts.  Please read all the way to the bottom for ideas for "green living".

The floor cleaner worked great on my hardwood floors and had a very pleasant natural scent. Left no streaks and left the floor shiny and no opaque spots after drying =)

Multi-purpose cleaner - was great especially on glass. If you're a cat owner, you know how bad windex and other glass cleaners can be because of the ammonia content. The liquid was very light and left my glass streak free. I use it with my Skoy Cloth.

Hand sanitizer came in a perfectly sized travel bottle, fits in purse as well as the stain remover and odor eliminator. I took them to my service retreat to New Orleans. I am glad I had the odor eliminator with me while away. Some shoes benefited from it and were left with a very nice and clean scent.

BTW: I do enjoy doing chores while breaking in new shoes ;)

Nair : Hair Removal Cream

So this may be a little sensitive for many, but am willing to share my story. Am sorry if at times it may be TMI but I had to share this with you. It's the summer and I think more often than not, some, if not most, of us struggle with the same issue. UNWANTED HAIR.

Nair has been a trusted brand since its birth during wartime 1940's. Starting as a single-scent depilatory lotion has grown into a large portfolio of 25 products for men and women. As the #1 depilatory brand on the market(*), Nair, "Like Never Before", is poised to continue its growth and meet the hair removal needs of all consumers. For more info, click HERE.

Nair Brazilian Spa Clay Shower Power Hair Removal Cream is a depilatory for legs and body that removes hair while you shower using Nair Shower Power Technology. Inspired by the beauty secrets and hair removal expertise of Brazil.

If you have ever tried hair removal creams, you know that the chemical smell is so strong that you can almost taste it (YUCK!). I was VERY pleasantly surprised to find that Nair Brazilian Spa Clay's smell is not as strong.

Comes with a sponge for application. It is very easy to use. Dispense cream onto sponge outside the shower, apply onto desired area (I just use it on my legs) and leave for two minutes, I do this while setting up for shower. Then walk into your shower and shower as you would normally do without washing off the cream. Some wash off may occur because of the water but that's ok. After two minutes, use the sponge to remove cream and VOILA! cream and hair are off your skin =D
The sponge is very absorbent so, to me, its wasteful at the time of application as it absorbs a lot of the product but it's perfect for the removing and cleaning stage =D gets all the cream off of my legs and most importantly, all hairs =) and cleans very easily.

I have now used it several times, the first time, was not very effective but I think it is safe to assume that my hairs were very stubborn from being shaved for so long as all the other times, hair comes right off. I love it. I am willing to give up shaving, my legs are soooo much smoother and NO MORE CUTS!!! =) nor unwated hair. At first, my hair was rapidly growing back (but again, am the kind that shaves in the A.M. and by P.M. I have spiky legs again (blushed face). So at first, my "shave" was extended only through the next day but slowly, less and less hair and less thick is hair is reappearing.

Nair is also teaming up with Condé Nast for the “Nair Brazilian Beauty Challenge,” which invites women to highlight great summer style and new fashion trends. One lucky winner will win a shopping spree in New York City with a Condé Nast stylist. Visit NairBrazilianBeautyChallenge.com for official rules of the challenge through July 31, 2012. GELATO MIO! by Jessica Cosmetics

GELATO MIO!

A collection of nail colours that celebrate summer!

Jessica Vartoughian, known as the "First Lady of Nails", founded Jessica Cosmetics in 1969.  The Gelato Mio Collection is composed of 6 gorgeous pastel colors to celebrate summer.  It makes me think of ice cream and cupcakes.

The colors are very creamy, smooth to apply and fast drying

(From left to right) Banana Peel, Strawberry Shake It, Tangerine Dreamz, Surfer Boyz & Berry, Barely Blueberry

And last but certainty not least Lime Cooler (above).

Stamps very nicely as well (sorry for the bad picture)

This is Banana Peel with a lemon wedge for a summer afternoon =)

I don't only like to show you how good a nail polish looks when it is first applied but also, how I experience its durability.  These pictures were taken four days after application and no special considerations to my mani have been taken into account.  I did everything I would normally do.  No chips, no peels, just minor fading on the tip (most noticeable on the middle finger) which happens with ALL polish as I work with my hands and handle an enormous amount of paperwork and am on the computer keyboard ALL DAY-EVERYDAY.  (you get used to typing with long nails but nail polish doesnt)

Also, I usually have a favorite from every collection that I get to try, however, I could not pick one.  They are all lovely.  This is a collection I can use throughout the year and for nail art.

Banana Peel perfectly matched my greeting card stickers EEEP!!

Beach Goer?? Leave the sand at the beach!

I live relatively close to the beach and love to visit except that at times am too lazy to get my shoes, clothes and car full of sand and then have to clean it all out.  Sometimes we take our bicycles to the beach, enjoy the water then when we want to get back on the bikes, we get our shoes and socks ready to later find socks FULL of sand.  I don't want to even get started of when I take the kids.  ughhh!!! just such an inconvenience.  So when I heard about Sand Gone sand remover, I knew I just had to try it.  This could be the solution to leaving sand where it belongs, AT THE BEACH!!

So I tried it on dry sand and it worked wonders just use the puff applicator and voila!  but what about wet sand.
I wet my hand and cover it with a thick layer of sand

and worked as promise.

Some of the sand stayed in the puff but I shook it and the excess sand came right off.

Sand Gone also left my skin soft and with a coconut scent.  Lovely!!! =)

Didn't take too much effort or powder which means it can last for a while.  It's already in my beach bag.  I am ready to go!!!

New Orleans 2012 - Gospel Roads

During the past week, I took part in a week-long service retreat by the Salesians of Don Bosco. I was chaperoning members of the Youth Group of my Parish.

The Gospel Roads is a series of Christian service retreats.  During one week teens and young adults are given the opportunity to walk with Jesus Chris through service to the young and the poor in the spirit of Don Bosco, the founder of the Salesians click HERE to learn more.  The week-long journeys is not composed of solely service trips.  There is also the opportunity for daily mass, small group discussions, sharing, reflections and a "Good Night" service offered by one of the adult members.  One night of Eucharist Adoration and the solemn opportunity for confession.

The New Orleans Gospel Road commenced on Saturday, June 16th. After signing in, all participants, young team and core team engaged in great-fun-spirited ice breakers. Gave each and everyone of us a wonderful opportunity to explore eachother's personality. Right there and then we knew who the emerging leaders were going to be, the fun, the loud, the quiet and the spirited ones, etc. On Sunday, we took an amazing walk of the City of New Orleans followed by mass at the New Orleans Cathedral given by the Archbishop of Louisiana (that was the highlight of my day). Mass was followed by a yummy lunch and then we went off to the swamps to Alligator Territory. I had never seen alligators up close (that close) and had the opportunity not only to learn but to touch one. (That was the second highlight of my day).
We were broken into "work groups" and every day thereafter, (Monday through Friday) we visited a local service site where all participants had the opportunity to work directly with people in need.  Among my group's service sites were schools, the food bank, pregnancy center and a summer camp.  After work each day, we returned to what we called "home" for the entire week.  Participants lived and worked together in complete unity after starting off as complete strangers.  Shared, moments, work tools, laughs and tears.

It was a marvelous seeing everyone come together to accomplish the tasks assigned.  Although small, these tasks made a great difference.  One of my group's assignment was to move tables  from classroom to classroom.  This took us, pretty much the entire morning and if we weren't there, it would have had to be done by one single person.  How long would that have taken??

At the Food Bank, three of us packed 3 pallets of 24 cases  containing 30 lbs. of beverages (water, juices, sodas, drink mix, coffee, etc.) along side us, was a small group packing canned goods, fruits, condiments, etc. off a conveyor belt to be distributed throughout Louisiana.

At the last prayer service, each one of us was asked what we would take with us from this experience. I have to say that I admire each and everyone of the participants. They gave up a WHOLE WEEK of their summer vacation for the benefit of others, it's very hard in today's society to be that young and find others with the same Godly interests and there they were together for the same reason. I admire their ability of making a difference in eachother's lives, including mine. I was reminded of how hard it was to be a teenager while trying to figure EVERYTHING OUT! the wonders of growing up is realizing that you don't have to. Just let God with the help of the holy spirit guide you through, stay active in doing good for others, at times, simply smile, and the rest will come.

Over 45 strangers became friends for life.

Thank you! we played, prayed and worked hard!!!
umm yeah!! we also partied hard!!

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK OK!! I'll mention it... I received a few private messages asking me to update my blog post as I seemed to have failed to mention what we had to eat.  I started with this:

Eggplant and crab meat something or other.. delicious.  not too thrilled about the deep fried stuff and a little too spicy for my taste, I couldn't finish it all but what I had what delicious.

and ok here's what everyone wants.  At one of the worksites, we were given pizza for lunch (about 7 or 8 pies) (14 of us)  Gospel Roads will NOT starve you.. Daily, we had breakfast, snack, lunch and dinner and all the water we needed, good food too!!!  but the pizzas came, I was hungry, served 2 slices on my plate, then went back for two more and two became three for a total of 5 plus, 3 breadsticks and half-hour later I was hungry again.  For someone who rarely eats pizza, I did pretty good.  =)

I am still growing... well... perhaps sideways, but growing nonetheless.

I am not used to sweet beans so we called them "fake beans" (no offense to my southern friends and readers) but the Latin cuisine i am accustomed to calls for "real" beans.

There!! Happy??

I received these wonderful Godefroy products from Innovative Beauty Products which is a domestic company with facilities in Arlington, Texas.  Innovative Beauty Products supplies to many salons across the United States as well as individual consumers.

Bac Pac Traveller: BC Hats

I love hats BC Hats came about as young William Conner figured out how to put the wire in the brim of a leather hat so that it could be shaped.  Today, his original design and construction method is world renowned and the quality of a B.C. leather hat is still at the very top.  B.C. Hats is a family owned company dedicated to quality and service and original Australian hats.

I received the Bac Pac Traveler perfect for any outing I have worn it to horseback ride and even just out for the afternoon and received many compliments.  It has shaped nicely to my head (not the other way around).  and I feel almost as sexy as the gals in the picture =)

Delivery was very prompt and came nicely packaged.  No damage can happen.  Customer service is 5 stars.  Very willing to answer customers questions and concerns.

The bac pac traveler features small brim which is reienforced with a flexible wire to allow this hat to be crushed if needed for travel. It it designed with a snap on each side which allows for a band or scarf of your choice. The bac Pac traveller smooth leather has been treated with waxes and oils to guard against the elements. It is also fitted with a comfortable suede sweat band. Brim size 2.75".

Nail Polish that Changes Colors

Check this out!!!!
I have a problem wherein at times I must wear decent "indoors" "work" nail polish as it cannot be too bold or I'll get frowns from upper management (not a good idea), plus am working so I want to look very professional.  But I found this nail polish from Del Sol that gives me my "work appropriate" look and my bold, worth-to-look at manicure when am outdoors.

Pretty in Pink  and Lustrous Lady
Yeah, I know it may not look like much to some but look at the wonders that it can do!! (except for the glitter accent I think it's very work-appropriate)

Indoors                                                               Sunny Outdoors
Here, I am wearing Del Sol Pretty in Pink with Rainbow Honey's Pinkie Promise on my pinky, middle finger and thumb and Del Sol Lustrous Lady on my ring and index fingers with Rainbow Honey's Celestia.

The Del Sol nail polishes are 3-Free, (yaay!) easy to apply, the look above took 2 coats, nice size brush to get enough polish to cover your nail has a shiny finish I am wearing them without a top coat and dries quick.  Also, the indoor and outdoor picture are 3 days apart.  I did my nails at night thinking the next day would be sunny and no sun on the east coast for 3 days and held up very very very well!

Lustrous Lady has a very nice blue shimmer to it unseen indoors.  On both, the colors really come alive.
Also perfect for ANY nail art idea.  Check this cherry blossom bloom before my eyes thanks to Del Sol color changing nail polish.

I love it!!! A+++++ recommendation (liked it so much wore it for almost a week).  Del Sol also makes an array of products from clothing to jewelry that change colors before your eyes with sunlight.  Be sure to check them out on their website, like them on Facebook and subscribe to their YouTube channel

Sibu Beauty: Review

"We are proud to offer an exclusive line of health & beauty products that will improve the way you look and the way you feel. But we are also sensitive to the constant stress on our environment due to chemicals, overflowing landfills, and irresponsible management of our forests and other valued resources"

Sibu Beauty has also announced a range  of sustainability initiatives with respect to the earth and the resources it provides.  From recycled plastic to their partnership with Forest Stewardship Council wherein environmentalists and sociologists come together in an effort for sustainable forestry.

I had the opportunity to review the Sibu Beauty Seabuckthorn Balancing Facial Cleanser a gentle but effective facial cleanser with a citrus scent.  The instructions state to use "a generous amount" but honestly I had been using a nickel size amount and found it to be way too much.  It lathers quickly and easily and very easy to rinse off.  I rinse it with lukewarm water.  A little really goes a long way.  Left my skin refreshed, and most importantly clean.

Ingredients

water, decyl glucoside, coco betaine, sd alcohol 40-b, lauryl glucoside, hydrogenated jojoba oil, carrageenan, glycerin, phenethyl alcohol, sea buckthorn fruit extract (hippophae rhamnoides), sea buckthorn seed oil (hippophae rhamnoides), panthenol , silk amino acids, coco-glucoside, glyceryl oleate, xanthan gum, sodium levulinate, sodium phytate, sodium anisate, fragrance (from orange and lemon essential oils

Sibu Beauty offers products that are good for you and the environment.
