Indie Invasion: 10.1 Polish

enjoy this first post after our #RedThumb2Stop and don't text and drive week!  I received a lot of positive feedback from many people that did not participated and thank you all who did!!! You can post your pledge at any time but even if you don't, please drive safely, be attentive and cautious.  That might just save your life or that of others.

Now on to polish! 

I can't tell you how happy I am to have received the entire Family Tree collection from 10.1 Polish.  My first question to this team, was how did you come up with the name and here's what I was told:

     "We came up with the name 10.1 because 10 meaning the best and .1 meaning always improving to be best..."

That to me, makes total sense... 8 pretties form their first collection, they are 5-free, well mixed and ADORABLY packaged! check them out.  

Take a closer look at the bows:  Some of these have been in my purse for a few days and bows are intact.  This is the cutest polish package I have ever seen!

Now individually, first up is Dylan's Beach Party.  It's a party alright! This is jelly with multi size glitter and hexes as well as blue micro glitter.  Seen here in two coats and ring finger has white "undies"

It was supposed to be this.. a black and white/white and black gradient for the undies.  :) 

This is one of my faves, I know you're thinking, how in the world can you pick a fave? but I have and this is one of them... glitter, bars and hexes of pink/blue and purple hues make up Susie's Que :) ha! that even rhymed.  Seen here in two coats and middle finger over black and ring finger over white "undies"

Marni's Cheering Again... it's a gorgeous hot pinkish/redish jelly, light on the glitter, and you'll find red, pink and black squares and circles.  ^_^

Kelly's Found Her From is a green glitter jelly 

I see frog and I see green, first thing I think of is kissing it to see what happens ^_^ 

and of course.. there were no frogs turning into a prince, but just looking around my house,.. my cats live like a prince and princess and my mani reflects it. ^_^ 

Hailey's Cosmic Yellow is a yellow glittery jelly... super cosmic and bright over white... never thought I'd rock yellow, kept this on for a few days.. it was a magnet for compliments like honey to bears (oooh! honeycomb mani? *idea*)

It's ok to drool .. it really is... when you see a black jelly that just fits the shoe.  

Ethan's Jam is seen here in three coats, you could do two... I just loved the intensity.  It's just passionate! another fave!

And last but certainly NOT least.. is this elegant off white jelly with pearly glitter and holo hexes and bars make up Devon's White.  Just classy and sophisticated.  A white that can be worn alone or paired or with nail art!

#RedThumb2Stop: Mani change

Using a The New Black set and Winstonia nail wraps Keep It Classy and BM324 and CH35 stamping plates

I was dying to change my mani and try these out and quite frankly I loved the idea of using wraps separately as I did last week.  Check it out HERE.  So in order to keep my Thumb Red as part of our Don't Text and Drive Awareness Week Here it is:

The base color of the wrap is very very similar to GlitterGal's Dorothy's Revenge

And to add to my intention to keep this mani, I chose purple because I will be attending a Relay for Life in support of the American Cancer Society :) so here's my right hand.

But tomorrow, it's the start of the world cup.. so I had to .. I just had to!!!

#RedThumb2Stop My Pledge

June 8th seemed so far away when we first started talking about this pledge and here we are today....

I used SinfulColors Get it On from the Leatherluxe collection, stamped with Snow Me White using Plate KXP06
I loved the matte look, however, I had to add top coat, used a shiny one, to protect the stamped image

I then added a pink bow rhinestone :) from PixelPiece



I hereby pledge NOT to text and drive... it is illegal, unnecessary and dangerous.  Think of those you leave behind.

Winstonia Nail Wraps

I haven't had a positive experience with nail wraps until NOW!
Application for me is always tricky as I have very curved nails so just need more practice, I am getting better and with the mani I came up with, I hope you feel the same way.

These are the Winstonia Designer Nail Wraps La Vie en Rose.

I am a lot more educated about these things and see it as a way to STOP drooling over sooo many stamping designs and DIY nail decals and elaborate free hand designs that take HOURS! to perfect and Gosh forbid you make a boo-boo and have to start all over again. 

Nail wraps are also great to avoid changing your nail color/design so often, but what do you do, when you're like me and actually like changing your nail color often but don't have the time for intricate designs??

Do what I do!!! enjoy the envy-provoking benefits of a kick-butt manicure without the hassle.  Each pack of Winstonia wraps comes with 20 nail wraps.  I used two in each hand, and the possibilities are virtually endless at a fraction of the effort and drying time. 

This design is just sooo cute and rosy.  Use as accent nail with solid colors, variation of similar shades, or what I did was a gradient using Barielle Pink Flip Flops and a purple (name?) from a The New Black's old set.

Wraps were on my nails untouched for over a week and a half.  They could've gone longer but I couldn't resist and tryout something different.  So I took them off.  Removal was a breeze.  They also come with a complimentary nail file and these make a great gift for only $7.95

Also consider when the nail polish is fading or chipping simply change your nail polish and leave the wraps for a fresh new mani in just a few minutes.  So I could have just removed the gradient and painted those three nails pink or purple and done!

Wraps require no drying time, no streaky application and, although recommended for durability, no top coat is needed as they are shiny right off the package but do apply it to help them stay on.

I have another set of nail wraps but that one will come in later.

Barielle Vibrants set: swatches and nailart

It's still spring right????  mid-spring is the time to begin looking for summer colors, but here's a set that would surely resurface in your stash for multiple seasons.

It's the Barielle's Spring 2014 Vibrants.  They are surely bold, sassy, sexy and of course, vibrant.

First up is My City Apartment: a light cream gray, soft, subtle yet emotionally available for those sassy nights.



This one has got to be my fave.  Name: Take me Shopping.  Status: Drooling ^_^
A gals dreams! This one's a keeper.
Although it looks a little coral in the pics.. it's a bright coralish-hot pink ^_^
