How I started in this nail polish venture: cuticle care

Cuticle care, in my opinion, is the most important step to healthy, long, beautiful nails.  Take it from me, a recovering biter.  I started liking and then loving and then became an addict as I realized what I was doing to myself.  Someone said to me one day "you're mutilating yourself" that was harsh, really harsh, you can just imagine how bad it must've been.

Am still recovering.  I dont bite my nails anymore but still struggle with cuticles and dead skin around my nails and even fingers, I just feel it and bite it!  but for some time, and thanks to the support of my blog followers  and Facebook fans and all of their encouraging words, I am doing sooooo much better.  You can really tell the difference if you look at my mani's album on my Facebook page www.facebook.com/bsnfun you can see by the pictures progress, some fall backs and many many good nail days (at least I like to think so).

Everyone that asks, I do not use artificial nails, acrylics, gels or anything that claims to "help" keep them beautiful and strong, am too much of a chicken, plus, it's expensive to maintain.  All I use is cuticle oil.  I keep a small bottle at my office and of course, plenty at home but recently, I received Sally Hansen's Massaging Cuticle Treatment as part of a product review and love it!
I carry in my purse every day.  Other portable cuticle oils somehow spilled leaving everything around it oily and therefore, a mess inside my purse. This one stays put, I apply it and can continue doing what am doing without the greasy hands.

It has an awesome massaging tip, it's soft and it feels sooo good, besides, massaging stimulates growth.  I even use it after I get my nails done at a salon just for the massaging tip.  Comes in a recyclable package and it is not tested on animals and it smells DIVINE!.

Can be found at your favorite beauty supply store or pharmacy (i.e. CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Ulta, etc.)

Seeing my nails' healthy glow makes me feel pretty =) even on bad hair days, it brings out your femininity even when no one is looking at your manicure.  Please no matter what you do to your cuticles, PLEASE do NOT cut them, push them and when you push them, PLEASE use cuticle oil first.  It makes a world of difference and I highly recommend this one ;)

  3. I used to bite my nails too but it was never too extreme. I just had to stop and break the habit because I waned to have nice looking nails! I never used to paint them but became obsessed with it a couple years ago and now I feel naked without paint! I have to have lotion or cuticle oil around all the time because my hands get sooo dry. Congratulations on recovering from your biting habit!
